The Holy Grail
Spectator opens up to any page and picks any word.
She reads the sentence her word is in, to herself.
Depending on the word she chose, you can immediately reveal her word.
This will happen quite often.
A true miracle.
You Chose Wisely
If one of the Holy Grail words are not chosen…
Ask your spectator to change her word into any word she wants; maybe something personal or something funny. No restrictions.
She reads the sentence out loud using the new word she created.
You can now reveal the original word.
Jheff's Guide
WHAT IT IS:
Specially printed paperback book
HOW ACCURATE OR COMPLETE THE AD COPY IS:
The ad copy is a little confusing as to what the routine is because the “Holy Grail” plot is described first. It is the section labeled “You Chose Wisely” which is what you’ll be performing most. Also, in the list of features it says that there is “no fishing for letters” which may imply that there is no fishing. That is not true. It’s just a very different type of fishing that’s unlike any other you’ve seen before and it does not involve fishing for letters.
SET-UP AND RE-SET:
None.
SUITABLE VENUES:
Close-up, Parlour, Stage, Walkaround, Internet
JHEFF’S JUDGMENT:
If you think you know what you’re getting with this book, based on previous Zandman book tests, you’ll be pleasantly surprised as this new Unseen series of book tests features a new and exciting principle that is brand new to Josh Zandman’s book test series. Though it may seem more procedural than other book tests, it is an organic and fun procedure. Though this doesn’t have additional features like Josh’s other book tests, I’ll still say that, at the time of this writing, this is definitely one of Josh Zandman’s best book tests and unique enough that if you perform book tests and are looking for one with a unique angle, this is definitely one to check out.
