The Blurb

The Silent Treatment is one of magic’s most iconic opening routines. It has been performed by many top magicians and mentalists all around the world. When Jason Alexander needed an opener for his Magic Castle act, he naturally chose The Silent Treatment.

You come on stage with a set of printed pages. The routine unfolds with you staying silent; the printed words doing the talking. Someone thinks of any playing card. After some playful engagement, the reason for the your silence is revealed. A folded card is in your mouth and revealed to be the thought of card!

Over the years, there have been several variations, but this is the big one… literally! Now someone can name *any* card and the routine is perfect for parlor shows to theatre shows, with the printed pages being visible to everyone.

The Silent Treatment Stage Edition retains the brilliant simplicity of the original effect. It grabs attention from the first moment, draws your audience in, and ends with a jaw-dropping reveal.

The Silent Treatment Stage Edition is a unique, proven, powerful opener for your show.

(You are provided with all the props, including the full, printed routine in English. This can be easily replaced with pages printed in any language you choose.)

It’s accurate enough.

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED THAT YOU NEED OR NEED TO KNOW:
You will need to supply your own deck of playing cards.

There is a one-time setup that involves placing the pages into the pocket, folding a deck of cards, and preparing the pages for performance. If you wish to customize this, it will take a bit longer.

ANGLES:
Like the other versions, you cannot do this surrounded. Your audience must be in front of you and not on the sides.

SUITABLE VENUES:
Parlor, Stage

JHEFF’S JUDGMENT:
After more than twenty years, Jon Allen has finally released a true stage version of his iconic routine, and it retains everything that made the original a favorite among top pros. The larger A3 format allows for a freely named card from the entire deck, and the customizable pages make this a powerful, flexible option for corporate or large‑audience work. The handling is straightforward, the reveal is explanatory rather than magical, and the impact remains as strong as ever. For stage performers—especially those who haven’t yet experienced how hard this plays—this is a must‑have upgrade and a highly recommended investment.
