The Blurb
Five objects are borrowed and laid out on a table. One object is now just thought of by your spectator. You now write a prediction on a pad and place it face down on the table. Your spectator picks up the object they are thinking of and holds it in their hands. You now turn the pad over to show you predicted the correct object.
- Predict anything, colors, drinks, objects, countries. Possibilities are endless.
- Reset happens in front of your spectators, so perfect for walkaround magic.
- You can repeat the effect to the same person or group of people with a totally different result
‘Richard had created a very clever gimmick that does the dirty work for you. Great for the novice or seasoned pro and you can do this under any strolling or close up conditions. very highly recommended’
– Paul Romhany, Vanish Magazine
‘A small and easy to use prop that is a valuable weapon in my close-up act’
– Matt Daniel-Baker, mind reader
Jheff's Guide
WHAT IT IS:
Gimmick with routine(s) included
HOW ACCURATE OR COMPLETE THE AD COPY IS:
There are a few things it doesn’t mention. There is a bit of pocket space involved and you do need pockets to use this. There is a sleight involved, but it’s a very basic, very simple sleight (a move which the audience is unaware of). The package includes the gimmick and an extra package of sticky pads which will last for a hundred performances or so. They are easily replaceable from your local office supplies store.
SET-UP AND RE-SET:
There is a one-time set-up which involves writing and should take just a couple of minutes. The re-set, depending upon the routine, takes seconds and can be done in front of the participants, which makes this suitable for walkaround.
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED THAT YOU NEED OR NEED TO KNOW:
The basic routine involves borrowed objects. As mentioned, you could use five items that are imaginary. If you wish to use other physical items, those you will have to supply yourself. Also, the maximum number of items that can be used is five. If you wish more, buying additional gimmicks will allow for that, however that may require additional pocket space.
SUITABLE VENUES:
Close-up, Parlor, Walkaround, Internet
JHEFF’S JUDGMENT:
This gimmick, which looks like a sticky note pad, is practical, versatile, and allows you to predict, or control the choice of, one of five items in a very direct manner similar to the classic Annemann matchbook idea. The items can be anything you like and they can even be imaginary. Though it does require a small bit of pocket space and management, this is still a gimmick which is well worth checking out.
