The Ad Copy
Kordex is the performing magician’s dream tool: a utility device that combines two of the most powerful principles in card magic-an index and a Koran deck.
Both the deck and the index are powerful tools in their own right, but when combined, they work seamlessly together in perfect harmony. Both have been designed and researched through literally decades of use by creator Matthew Wright. The 9-card Koran deck is road-tested to make sure it goes completely unnoticed in real-world performances. Each card has been specifically chosen to hide the secret in plain sight and allow for mind-reading miracles with very little effort. A beginner’s dream! Not only that, but the cards are also marked on the back, meaning the performer always knows what card the spectator has dealt, chosen, looked at, or peeked.
Once the performer is armed with that knowledge, the second part of the dynamic duo comes into play.
The index has also been designed for real-world use after decades of trials with pocket indexes. It fits perfectly into jeans, shorts, and trouser pockets (both front and back), as well as easily sitting inside outer and inner jacket pockets.
Access and retrieval of the cards from the index has never been easier, with the unique “cut-out” design allowing for almost instant access to the card… which is then delivered perfectly into the waiting finger palm.
Kordex comes with over an hour’s worth of tutorials via download and features some of Matthew’s favorite routines direct from his professional performing repertoire.
Never before has such an incredible toolset been available for such an accessible price. Highly recommended.

WHAT IT IS:
Effect with props
HOW ACCURATE OR COMPLETE THE AD COPY IS:
It’s accurate enough, though it doesn’t describe the main routine Matthew uses. In that, a folded bill is clipped to a card, and the performer bets that he can predict the card that will be selected. The cards are dealt. The participant says stop whenever they like. The card is revealed to be a Joker, and Jokers are wild. Then the bill is unfolded and the playing card’s name is written on it.
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED THAT YOU NEED OR NEED TO KNOW:
If you want to use Matthew’s routine with the bills, you’ll need to both supply and prepare your own.
SETUP AND RESET:
The deck may need to be reset, depending on how you use it. You’ll need to reload the index. If you use Matthew’s routine, which involves bills in the index, you’ll have to prepare those.
ANGLES:
None
SUITABLE VENUES:
Close-up, Parlor, Walkaround, Internet
JHEFF’S JUDGMENT:
This strong mentalism routine combines a Koran deck with a specially designed index, and without question it hits hard and delivers on its ad copy. Matthew’s routine with the bills is very strong, and experienced mentalists will know it can get great reactions. The index has a unique design that makes removing items easier, and the package includes everything you need. If this fits your performing needs and style, it will be a solid worker for you.
