The Blurb
The original Blindsight has been one of the bestselling tricks in magic, having sold over 5000 copies. Here is a new improved version. The effect is the same, but the method has been improved.
Performer explains that Blindsight is the apparent ability to see colors and shapes that cannot be seen. You offer a simple experiment. You introduce 4 ungimmicked colored cards: red, blue, green, and yellow. These in turn are sealed into 4 opaque envelopes in full view and mixed so that the spectator doesn’t know which color is in which envelope. You pick up an envelope and ask him what color he thinks is inside. Assume he says green. You write “green” on the envelope. This is repeated three more times with the remaining envelopes. Each time, he states the color he thinks is inside and the performer writes it on the envelope.
Performer fans the envelopes out, allowing the person to see the names written on each envelope. Magician states he only needs three envelopes for the first part and for the person to remove one envelope and place it off to the side. Let’s assume he discards the envelope with the word “green” written on it.
The other three envelopes are opened one at a time — the spectator has correctly guessed which colors were in each envelope! This is pretty amazing in itself but the kicker is still to come.
Magician says nobody could have known what envelope the spectator would discard off to the side. The spectator, not the magician, picks up this envelope and opens it. Of course the correct color card is in it, but wait; there is a slip of paper in it and it reads: “THE GREEN ENVELOPE WILL BE THE ONE YOU DISCARD!”
The magician can then show the other envelopes to be empty. Here are the facts:
No two-sided color cards
No nailwriters or boonwriters
No secret writing
No switches
No sleights of any kind
No one ahead or one behind methods
No magnets
Nothing secretly added or taken away
Color cards are not gimmicked in anyway
Only 4 cards are used
The handling is designed in such a way that spectators and magicians will be unable to backtrack and discover the method.
Here are the new improvements. Those who have the original trick know that there are so-called perfect situations. Although the outcome is the same, in some cases you can flash the face of the envelope after writing the color. The best outcome is when you can flash it every time after writing on the envelope. The improved method increases your odds of doing this by 70% and makes it even more amazing to your audiences. In most cases, you will be able to flash the front of the envelope two or four times. This was something that was not always possible with the original trick as it relied on luck. The improved method does away with luck and puts the odds in your favor. The handling is different from the original trick. Complete with color cards, envelopes and marker. Nothing else to buy.
“I was blindsided by this new edition and method. I love doing it and so will you. I use it now as a traveling piece of real mentalism. It is real thinking to the nth degree.”

Jheff's Guide
WHAT IT IS:
Effect with Props
HOW ACCURATE OR COMPLETE THE BLURB IS:
It’s accurate
SET-UP AND RE-SET:
there is a one-time set-up, which involves using markers to write on the envelopes and stickers that have to be written on and placed. The re-set takes seconds and can be done in front of participants. I will note that the complete routine is nor really recommended for walkaround unless you leave out the kicker ending.
SUITABLE VENUES:
Close-up, Parlour
JHEFF’S JUDGMENT:
If you have and liked the original BLINDSIGHT, then this is a must-have purchase as it adds extra principles to this classic that makes it more effective. The price is extremely fair, especially considering you are getting all the props necessary to do the effect.
