The Blurb
This is a gimmicked box that has been precision-crafted from thick acrylic that enables a performer to switch a group of billets, force an item, make something appear, make something vanish, and can even be used as a prediction chest.
It comes ready to go, along with a few extras that give the performer some options that further increase its utility.
Jheff's Guide
WHAT IT IS:
Gimmick with routine(s) included
HOW ACCURATE OR COMPLETE THE AD COPY IS:
The ad doesn’t tell you much about this item other than the basics. The box is roughly 6″ x 9″ and about 3″ in height. It is clear with black trimming and a black plastic bottom. Besides the “few extras,” it also comes with a cloth bag that can be used to carry or store the box, as well as to be used to cover it during a live performance and make one very easy move to be very invisible.
SET-UP AND RE-SET:
The set-up and re-set involves loading (and/or unloading) the box. It takes seconds, but must be done pre-show and away from the audience’s sight.
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED THAT YOU NEED OR NEED TO KNOW:
This is a utility device and, despite David Regal explaining a few routines, they are merely included to get your creative juices flowing and to demonstrate the different functions you can do with this. So, even though you can certainly work this “right out of the box,” it may take you time to create the perfect routine to use this for.
SUITABLE VENUES:
Close-up, Parlour, Stage, Internet
JHEFF’S JUDGMENT:
David Regal always puts out quality products and routines that deliver what you expect. This is a terrific and versatile switch box that has much to like about it. It’s not as portable or versatile as Luca Volpe’s TBC, but it has unique features that may suit your purposes more effectively. If you are looking for an elegant, clear, almost hands-off switch box, then this is the one to get, if you have to choose.
