BLOCKBUSTER BOOK TEST

The Blurb

Blockbuster is a movie theme book test that can be performed close-up, table hopping, in a children’s show or on stage. There are several live performances followed by a full explanation of the variation principles used. There are three stages to my routine including a quick flashback revelation, a first letter type reveal, and a prediction ending.

The book can be purchased from most book shops including Amazon and can be fully examined. Furthermore, the movie title is in an extremely large font making it easy to read without glasses and from a distance.

The movie revelation allows for some entertaining patter that help brings comedy to your routine, as well as being familiar with your audiences.

Jheff's Guide

WHAT IT IS:
Instantly viewable/downloadable video plus 7-page PDF.

HOW ACCURATE OR COMPLETE THE BLURB IS:
It’s accurate enough.

SET-UP AND RE-SET:
The book itself needs no set-up or re-set, but extra materials that you may use for predictions and such may need to be created or replaced.

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED THAT YOU NEED OR NEED TO KNOW:
You will need to perform the book. The edition that I got from Amazon had a slightly different title and a different cover, so I’m assuming the U.S. and the U.K. editions differ only in that way. If you search up the author’s name and “80s” you should find it.

SUITABLE VENUES:
Close-up, Parlour, Stage, Internet

JHEFF’S JUDGMENT:
Stephen Ablett has found a mainstream book on 1980s movies that allows for the use of six classic book test principles and techniques. Even considering that you must buy the book separately (about $15), the total cost for this is very fair and the discovery certainly worth recommending.
