Russian Roulette is a classic routine. It’s not been suitable for everyone…. until now.
Six marker pens: five dry and one that works
Six audience members each take one
One by one, the pens are freely selected and handed to you.
You run each pen across your face, your tie, your shirt, something valuable, or even someone else, hoping not to leave an indelible mark.
The final pen is revealed to be the dangerous one.

Jheff's Guide
WHAT IT IS:
Effect with Props
HOW ACCURATE OR COMPLETE THE AD COPY IS:
It doesn’t mention how the die is used. Each of six participants takes a marker and is assigned a number from 1 to 6. A seventh participant rolls the die. The participant assigned to the corresponding number hands their marker to the performer, who then checks to see whether it is a dry one as described in the ad copy.
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED THAT YOU NEED OR NEED TO KNOW:
Everything is included in the package except for a dice shaker cup, which is optional.
SETUP AND RESET:
The reset involves the die, replacing the paper on the clipboard, and making sure the markers are set in the plastic holder. All of this takes a minute or so.
ANGLES:
This can be done surrounded with a careful placement of some of the elements.
SUITABLE VENUES:
Parlor, Stage, Internet
JHEFF’S JUDGMENT:
This is a safer, more fun, and family‑friendlier version of the Smash N Stab style routine that uses five large markers, only one of which writes. It’s very easy to do, though the large markers, the large plastic container, and the other items dictate that this is a parlor or stage effect. Although using the die to eliminate markers means you can’t demonstrate mind reading or mind control, there are alternative approaches you could use. If you’re looking for a unique, easy‑to‑do Smash N Stab-style routine, this delivers on that promise.
