HOW ACCURATE OR COMPLETE THE AD COPY IS:
The ad assumes you are familiar with Max Maven’s Kurotsoke. I describe it below in my comments if you aren’t. Also, this ad has just been updated from the stick version. I’ll discuss more about the two versions below. Finally, the ad says, “These are now in plastic not card.” This line is referring to the tube for the Sharpies (or sticks), which previously was made from cardboard. The black plastic tube assures a greater longevity and is much more elegant.

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED THAT YOU NEED OR NEED TO KNOW:
If you’re going to perform the murder mystery routine, you will need to make some printouts. The files for these printouts are included on the instructional website.

SETUP AND RESET:
Besides printing out materials for the murder mystery routine, there is a slight setup for it, but that is negligible as a factor. Otherwise, if you’re just using the Sharpies to perform a Kurotsoke-style routine, then the setup involves positioning the gimmick, which can be done secretly in front of the audience or before the performance.

ANGLES:
No angle issues.

SUITABLE VENUES:

JHEFF’S JUDGMENT
Max Maven’s classic Kurotsoke has been given a clever and practical upgrade, and using Sharpies instead of marbles or sticks makes this version far more appealing and organic. The methodology is closer to Charles Gauci’s Body Language, and depending on participant choices, you can even end completely clean. The murder‑mystery routine adds another strong option, but the real value is how versatile these Sharpies are for parlor‑sized audiences. This is one of the best gimmicked versions of Kurotsoke available and highly recommended.
