The Blurb
Insight was a huge success in the world of book tests when it was first released. The limited run quickly sold out and it has been unavailable for several years. Now re-released
with a new cover design and a new title, but inside it is the same as the original.
You should also consider ‘Running the Numbers’ as an excellent partner to Insight.

My Comments
When asked what the greatest marketed book tests are, this one has always been ranked near the top. Some even find this preferable to Ted Karmilovich's Mother of All Book Tests or Larry Becker's Ultimate Flashback. Now this is not a new product as INSIGHT has been on the market for quite some time. But Keith Fields has reprinted this by popular demand and produced a new edition with a new cover so owners of the original can purchase this and it will appear as if one has a second completely different book.
So what's the difference between this and other book tests? The important difference is that you can reveal nine completely different types of information: a long word, a man's name, a woman's name, an animal, a city, a country, an occupation, a date, and a year. The book can freely opened to any page and, for example, the performer can simply ask a
participant to read a section on the page, focus on an animal that's mentioned, and that animal can be instantly revealed by the performer. After that, you can do the same with another piece of information. The performer can be standing at the other end of the room and do this. The other pieces of information can be handled the same way.
It's that clean and direct. You're not forcing a page, a line, using other means to arrive at page numbers, or even giving restrictions on making the choice. Participants can open to any page, look at the passage there, and have revelations made by the performer. And, like MOABT, the book can be freely handled and even read for a minute or two if one wishes to have the participant do so.
The book itself is a softcover, about 5x7 inches, and just over 200 pages (though the numbered pages only go to 199). Included in the package is a 16 page instruction booklet that includes additional thoughts by Andy Nyman about having a kicker prediction ending and Chuck Hickok regarding using progressive anagrams with this. Plus, Keith has included a laminated cover which I'll get to in a moment.
The only consideration for this is that you do have to memorize forty separate bits of information. The booklet certainly gives some mnemonics to make it easier and there's no question that it's recommended you do memorize the info.
However, for those who need a little help, included in the package is a devious laminated back cover of a book that serves as a crib sheet. This laminated back cover, incidentally, comes from RUNNING THE NUMBERS, another Keith Fields product which, though it could be used separately, was created to be used in adjunct with INSIGHT. I highly recommend investing in that, if you're going to invest in INSIGHT.
The best book tests all have their strengths and weaknesses and their specific uses. But this one is certainly a tool that is very clean and direct, easy to use and learn, versatile, can be performed hands off, and does exactly what is promised. I will certainly stop short of proclaiming INSIGHT as being better than any other book test out there. I know better than to do that. But I will say that this belongs in the creme-de-la-creme of book tests and is highly recommended.
